Rarely do great beauty and great virtue dwell together. --PETRARCH, De Remedie

When u look at me what do you see?  Do you see a woman, do you see a girl do you see a mother or a friend?  Do you see that the weight that I carry is heavy - the burdens I carry are many?

Do you see that the light within me sometimes gets dim in the midst of storms?

Can you see tell that my lips haven't always been true - that my heart has sometimes deceived the best and brightest - even me?

Do you notice the lines - that lead to places of worry - places of laughter...Do you want to recommend something  a powder or a cream - what makes you think I need healing...lines don't always bleed.

I dare to say that you might even see beauty - depending on what you've seen before.  It's all in the eye of the beholder...but is the beholder against it - or are they for?  For the cause of beauty - it is within each and every one of us.  Somtimes it is within and sometimes it is without - but it's always there.  Can we always touch it - I must say no.  I've sought to obtain it and have failed both by day and by night.  I have attempted to comprehend it and have only managed to grasp but one tiny portion.

But I will not give up.  It has been promised to me by the One who gives it.  He has made it and  has offered it to me as a loving Father to a lovely girl.  You can have it after meekness.  YOu can have it after the shame.  You can have it after charm and vanity fades.

It is the praise of your children - the admiration of your lover, the pride of your ancestors.  It is the knowledge that has not puffed up but has given endlessly to unknown neighbors and undeserving enemies.  It is our right as women to do everything in our power not only to look and feel our best; but to be our best.  It is a calling to the young and the old alike to be Born Again Beautiful Everyday.
